Job Description:
Description POSITION SUMMARY: An integral member of the surgical
team who provides support for surgeons throughout the operation by
preparing, providing and caring for instruments and equipment and
maintaining a sterile field. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a
school of Surgical Technology preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
BLS certification required prior to end of probationary period.
Surgical Tech certification required. SKILLS: Knowledge of care and
handling of instruments and equipment. Knowledge of sterilization
and cleansing procedures. Ability to read, write, and communicate
verbally in English. EXPERIENCE: One or more years experience in an
acute care hospital setting in the operating room or an instrument
care environment preferred.
