Job Description:
Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) seeks a
collaborative and mission-driven Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to
become part of an executive team that will lead the organization
into its next era of impact. Reporting to the Chief Executive
Officer (CEO), the CSO will be responsible for leading the
initiatives based on the strategy roadmap, cultivating donor
partnerships (including major gifts), strengthening advocacy and
policy efforts locally and nationally, and guiding the executive
team on strategic priorities. The CSO collaborates with executive
leadership, government officials, and community coalitions to
strengthen philanthropic donor investment in AHCH, influence policy
at regional and national levels, and drive systems-level solutions
that improve outcomes for AHCH clients and advance efforts to end

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in public
policy, law, public administration, or related field or
commensurate relevant work experience and bring ten years of
experience working with community-based organizations and diverse
coalitions. Additionally, our ideal candidate will have at least
five years of experience leading a high-performing development and
communications or advancement team. This individual will understand
the nuances of governmental contracts, major gifts donors, and be
adept at maintaining high-level oversight of communications and
philanthropy. Candidates should be strategic thinkers with a
systems orientation, confident decision-makers grounded in
humility, and clear communicators with a track record of leading
through a challenging landscape. An understanding of health equity,
client-centered care, and advocacy for people is essential. Minimum
Qualifications: Strong strategy development, planning,
facilitation, and organizational skills Experience directly
supervising fund development and communications teams Ability to
work under tight timelines, think conceptually, and take a
proactive role in executing and completing projects Ability to work
with peers to lead change, engender high performance, and foster
innovation Ability to balance strategy formulation and execution
Must have ability to analyze data and effectively communicate
impact of data to AHCH leadership and staff Excellent written and
oral communications skills and experience and comfort with public
speaking Ability to engage in critical thought and assess effective
programmatic solutions and policy response to homelessness High
level of organization and adherence to deadlines Ability to
effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse
ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation,
cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities
Must be highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented with
a strong ability to synthesize and prioritize large amounts of
information. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of
the organization Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, public
administration, or related field or commensurate relevant work
experience At least 5 years of experience in grant
writing/fundraising management with at least 5 years of experience
supervising a high performing team in a complex work environment 10
years of experience working with community-based organizations and
diverse coalitions Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of the
importance of coalition and systems building activities and their
impact on issue-based social change movements Background in
information technology and understanding of relevant emerging
technologies Bilingual Spanish/English Master’s degree in business
administration, public policy, law, public administration, social
work, urban planning, or related field, or commiserate relevant
work experience 15 years of experience working with community-based
