Job Description:
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is seeking a compassionate and
dedicated Part-time Veterinarian to join our team. This unique
position focuses on providing end-of-life care and euthanasia in a
peaceful, home-based setting, ensuring a dignified farewell for
pets. The ideal candidate will have experience in veterinary
hospice care or a strong desire to learn this deeply rewarding
practice. You will work closely with pet owners to provide
emotional support and expert medical care during a significant time
in their pets' lives. Conduct in-home consultations and assessments
for end-of-life care. Administer euthanasia and provide hospice
care in a respectful and compassionate manner. Offer emotional
support and counseling to pet owners during consultations.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to
coordinate care plans. Maintain accurate medical records and
document all care provided. Educate pet owners on hospice care
options and end-of-life preparations. Strong empathy and
communication skills Ability to handle emotional situations with
professionalism Skill in administering euthanasia and managing pain
in a hospice setting Capacity to work independently in a home visit
setting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Valid state veterinary license Certified in
Veterinary Hospice and Palliative Care (optional but preferred) DEA
registration to administer controlled substances
