the 10-year, $1.38 billion Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for
the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Environmental Management,
Los Alamos Field Office.N3B is a limited liability company owned by
HII Nuclear Inc. and BWX Technologies, joined by our critical
subcontractors Longenecker and Associates and Tech2 Solutions. N3B
brings operational discipline, proven approaches and predictable
results to the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract.Position
Location:This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.Los

retirees.Position Summary:This position serves as a Regulatory
Compliance ER Environmental Protection advisor for clean-up
operations of MDAs and Aggregate Areas. Specific duties may
include, but are not necessarily limited to, conducting
environmental protection assessments to evaluate contaminated
sites, analyzing and recommending technical solutions, and
assisting in the development of waste management strategies and/or
removal strategies.The Environmental Professional will provide
environmental protection support and work with management and staff
throughout the Regulatory Compliance organization to solve
environmental compliance issues. Oversees and develops processes
necessary for ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory
requirementsThis position reports to the Regulatory Compliance
Manager. Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are
not limited to):
- Providing environmental protection technical guidance to ER
operations on environmental remediation problems and issues
- Conducting environmental protection assessments/walk downs of
contaminated sites to determine the scope, constituent content, and
physical parameters of the pollutants
- Recommending the most feasible, cost effective, and timely
methodology available for remedial action in keeping with
environmental protection and regulatory requirements
- Conducting investigations of the site to determine the extent
of contamination, defining the alternatives that can be employed to
complete the cleanup and insuring that the work will be in
accordance with all federal and state regulatory requirements and
within the N3B's environmental policy
- Understanding the technical aspects of various regulatory
requirements and how they impact each clean-up operation at ER
sites.
- Understanding and adhering to all regulatory guidance and
governance specific to environmental protection and
remediation
- Monitoring and reviewing the environmental protection
performance of subcontractor in the areas of work planning, work
execution, installation, inspections, material control, and other
areas of their work to confirm that they are performing in
accordance with regulatory regulations.
- Advising and consulting with all levels of staff throughout the
ER organization in identifying, resolving, and developing solutions
to environmental-related problems.Minimum Qualifications
(Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Ability to develop strategies and specifications for the
isolation and/or removal of hazardous waste contaminants or the
resulting materials contaminated by them
- Advanced working knowledge of federal, state and local
environmental and related health legislation and regulations
including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA),
Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA), Comprehensive
Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA),
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Superfund Amendments and
Reauthorization Act (SARA), and Clean Air and Water acts
- Knowledge of and experienced with environmental protection
principles
- Ability to communicate major elements of environmental
protection and remediation to both technical and non-technical
personnel
- Ability to prepare, review and present environmental protection
reports
- Proven customer service and communication skills sufficient to
partner with the ER organization to implement sound environmental
protection practices
- Ability to conduct research, investigate alternative solutions,
and recommend solutions on problems affecting environmental
protection
- Ability to become or be CISEC certified.Education and
Experience Required:Associates degree or 9 years' relative
experience. However, a combination of education and relevant
experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform
the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately
demonstrated is acceptable.Education Equivalency: 2 years of
relevant experience for 1 year of college.Waste Management
Coordinator (WMC) experience desired.Radiological and Hazardous
Waste Management experience is desiredEmployee Referral

senior external personnel on significant technical matters often

expenditure of large amount resources.Working Conditions and
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements conducive to a normal
office environment. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity
and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the
discipline. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a
time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10
pounds. May spend time in the field gathering data and monitoring
environmental conditions firsthand. Field activities may require
working in unfavorable weather conditions.Safety, Security, and

Environmental Professional will ensure all activities and
operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner to include
protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Personally
Identifiable Information (PII). This role will maintain required

regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an
integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps
to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises
