What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Learning Specialist 3 or
Learning Specialist 4 level, depending on the skills of the
selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined
below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher
level.
The Operational Readiness Implementation Division (ORI-DO) is
seeking a highly skilled Learning Specialist to directly support
Pit Flow Sheet training programs within the Training & Mission
Services group (ORI-1). The primary core tasks of the position will
support Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production
(ALDWP) with development and implementation of formal training,
qualification, and certification programs within a highly complex
and fast-paced work environment.
The Learning Specialist will report directly to the Pit Flow Sheet
Training Team First Line Manager (FLM). The selected individual
will perform various dynamic training responsibilities and become
an expert in applying the numerous requirements and drivers. The
chosen candidate will have the responsibility and accountability to
execute important training deliverables in support of the
manufacturing of 30 pits per year while always setting the
standards for utmost professional behavior and integrity in the
workplace.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Expertise:
Experience in applying a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) with
accuracy, completeness and in combination with document control
processes and/or developing training both small/large-scale
training programs in a systematic fashion. Advanced demonstrated
experience applying adult learning theory and performance-based
training techniques.
Performance:
Experience gathering requirements, performing analysis, developing
individual eLearning products, implementing eLearning, and
assisting with evaluation methods. Experience utilizing a learning
management system to effectively implement training programs.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a complex,
fast-paced operational environment.
Accountability:
Experience working with confidential or proprietary information,
classified documents, or sensitive information, including PII
training records. Sound understanding of safety and security
requirements to individual responsibility and as applicable to
training activities.
Communication and Customer Service:
Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal
communications. Ability to transfer knowledge effectively to both
technical and non-technical personnel. Proven skillset in using
excellent communication to provide top-notch customer service.
Computer Skills/Business Systems:
Advanced knowledge of business and operations systems and standard
software applications (Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to
quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL shared business systems
(Learning Management Systems, Teams, Google Drive, etc.).
DOE O 426.2:
Requires a BA Degree and 1 year of job-related experience.

Education/Experience at lower level: Requires a Bachelor's Degree
in a related field and 8 years of related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience directly related
to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level: Requires a Bachelor's Degree
in a related field and 10 years of related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience directly related
to the occupation.

Location:
This position will be in Los Alamos, New Mexico with the potential
for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite)
from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location.
Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Hybrid is at the
discretion of management and can change at any time with
appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to
serve a period of continuous service in their current position in
order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the
Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they
may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of
their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is
a 1 year.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human
Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation,
Part 712, -712.11. These requirements include on going drug and
alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological
evaluations.
426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel
Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear
Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure
candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform
the requirements of the job.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful
applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a
substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although
New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana,
use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A
positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of
employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for
