Job Description:
Sealaska Technical Services (STS) is a critical subcontractor on
the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program
management and technical services in support of the ground &
surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy's
Los Alamos National Laboratory.
STS is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting

monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering,
data management and analytics for both federal and commercial

and established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
STS is currently seeking an experienced Chromium Groundwater
Remediation Operator. While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives,
will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe
and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and
operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance;
and make safety and security an integral part of every task;
including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the
job is unsafe or compromises security.
+ Support the operation of Chromium and RDX groundwater remediation
field activities
+ Oversee all aspects of water system operation, maintenance and
monitoring
+ Operate small water treatment system via computer-based SCADA
program
+ Support the collection and transport of water samples
+ Monitor equipment such as pump motors, valves, meters, etc. for
performance reliability
+ Troubleshoot and correct minor electrical and mechanical
equipment problems
+ Keep and maintain records
+ Support for facility access, permits, and notifications
+ Provides interface with the Facility Operations Director to avoid
conflicts with other site activities
+ Coordinates with site personnel and subcontractors conducting
remediation activities
+ Coordinate with the technical lead as required
+ Ensure that all field sampling requirements are met to comply
with permit requirements and technical objectives
+ Team with counterparts in groundwater monitoring and well
drilling/maintenance areas to ensure coordination and elimination
of potential technical conflicts
+ Complies with all health & safety policies and practices
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical
discipline, or equivalent; however, a combination of education and
relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to
perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been
adequately demonstrated is acceptable
+ The career level of the position will be determined by the years
of relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; after a
candidate, has been chosen
+ Complete understanding of principles, concepts and techniques in
the field of general engineering
+ Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks and to
analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems
+ Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved
processes
+ Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine
the best way to accomplish tasks.
+ Ability to lead certain aspects of a task or project
+ Ability to train and mentor more junior staff
+ Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication
skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform
essential functions of the job
+ Ability to work in a team oriented project environment
+ Employment for this position will be subject to all relevant
