An exciting opportunity is now available for PACU Registered Nurse at a well respected medical center in New Mexico

The Registered Nurse PACU will join a facility that has strong ties to the surrounding community and is part of a thriving system of hospitals. This position will play an integral role in continuing this tradition of excellence in safety and quality.

Reporting to the Surgical Services Nurse Manager, this PACU Registered Nurse will work with a qualified team of Perioperative Nurses including, Pre-Op and Post - Op registered nurses, OR Nurse Practitioners, and Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Nurses of Operating Room (CNOR). The department also works under the guidelines and policies set by the Perioperative Nurse Director.

The PACU Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge in the pre-op and post-op areas. This person will ensure positive patient outcomes, uphold the medical center's mission and provide safe and therapeutic care to all patients

The Registered Nurse PACU will communicate with other departments and providers to ensure the continuum of care, including surgeons and anesthesiologists. The ideal candidate for this role will display an understanding of each patient's cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturity in the assessments, treatment, and care. The PACU Registered Nurse may also assume charge nurse responsibilities when needed.
