Job DescriptionJoin our team at the Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory and contribute to a dynamic team of facility engineering professionals that provide engineering solutions across a wide variety of buildings at one of the most important research facilities in the world. We are looking for enthusiastic engineers with an interest in building systems and infrastructure to work in the Engineering Services - Engineering Project Delivery (ES-EPD) group.Qualifications/Job Duties Adhere to and enforce engineering policies, programs, procedures and practices (Conduct of Engineering). Apply principles, theories, concepts and techniques within discipline and of other related fields to perform work. Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Plan engineering assignments to include estimates for engineering staffing, quantities, scope reviews, schedules on a project. Exercise technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Resolve field-initiated questions on engineering, visits job site, as required, for exchange of information. Coordinate engineering effort with project manager, procurement, construction, startup, environment, safety, health, and project controls, when assigned. Review project engineering progress against approved schedules, evaluate changes, and take corrective action when required. Make recommendations to engineering management of key personnel for project assignments, initiate requests for specialized professional services. Ensure that technical risk assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design andcorresponding design documentation are in compliance with project quality assurance plan and procedures. Communicate complex technical issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate. Develop statements of work. Establish project assumptions and constraints. Establish key milestones and deliverables, and develops summary budget. Provide inputs to and own the engineering elements of a project capital estimate (proposals and execution) quantities and budgets. Plan, forecast, and identify necessary engineering resources to support project workload requirements. Coordinate activities among the design groups on the project. Serve as the Administrative Subcontracts Technical Manager (AdSTR), when required Complete other duties as defined by the Project or Functional Manager.Basic Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of engineering experience.Other Job Requirements Due to client requirements, candidate must be a US Citizen (no Dual Citizenship) Make use of Fluor University courses for continued learning experiences Utilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project executionPreferred Qualifications Engineer in Training Certificate. Knowledge of DOE and LANL Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering principals and procedures. Nuclear Experience Current or Former Fluor experience
