nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in
Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty:

04/27/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12
hours, flexible - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum
of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required.
Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for
extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment.
$750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - PCU /n/n Job
Details: /n • Work 0.9 FTE night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM /n•
Weekend coverage as needed /n• On-call and call-back coverage as
needed /n• Maintain patient ratio of 4:1, may flex up to 5:1 in a
48-bed unit /n• Must successfully pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia
(BCA) test before starting assignment /n• Float between departments
and local locations within 20 miles as required /n• Provide direct
patient care using nursing process for medically complex patient
population /n• Care for Med/Surg level patients without direct ICU
escalation path /n• Coordinate patient care through collaboration
with patients, families, and healthcare team /n• Administer
medications and treatments as prescribed and document according to
policy /n• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel /n•
Recognize, de-escalate, and respond to deteriorating patient
conditions /n• Must wear solid scrubs with matching tops and
bottoms /n• Two years current experience in 18 bed telemetry or
progressive care unit required /n• Completion of at least one
13-week travel assignment required /n• Required certifications: New
Mexico or Compact State nursing license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS /n•
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in
Nursing (ASN) required /n• Epic EMR experience preferred /n• No
charge or precepting responsibilities /n/n Facility: /n This
medical center operates a 48-bed progressive care unit providing
specialized care for medically complex patients requiring telemetry
monitoring and advanced nursing care. The facility serves patients
awaiting community placement in long-term care settings and
maintains a progressive care environment without direct ICU
escalation capabilities. The organization emphasizes
