Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Mar 1, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel contract in Española, NM, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment. Details - Hospital-based Med/Surg unit setting - 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week) - Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required - Epic EMR used on-site; training available for those without prior Epic experience Requirements - Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State currently in hand - Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross - Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required - ADN or ASN degree required - At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required - Must be able to speak, read, and write in English - Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information - Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care using the nursing process - Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team - Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols and documents according to policy - Identifies and addresses patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care - Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel - Completes population- and procedure-specific competency education and testing per unit standards - Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler - Must be a team player, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment American Traveler Job ID P-675093.
