Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a NM or compact RN license and strong cardiac critical care background. Responsibilities - Work in a Cardiac Specialty Care unit within a hospital setting - Patient population includes cardiac critical care and intensive care patients - Unit size is 12 or more beds - 12-hour night shifts, three days per week - Floating required between departments and local locations within 20 miles - Epic EMR system is used; on-site training provided if needed - Provide direct care using the nursing process for an assigned group of cardiac ICU patients - Coordinate care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to protocols - Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive staff in the unit - Complete unit-required education, competency, and protocol testing - Orientation includes BCA testing, completed on the first day - Holiday coverage may be required depending on assignment schedule - Scrub color or dress code details to be provided during onboarding Requirements - Active NM or Compact RN license required - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; BLS and ACLS must be from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross - Minimum of two years recent experience in a 12-plus bed cardiac critical care or ICU required - Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required - Must pass the on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing within first week of assignment; one retake allowed - Open heart, LVAD, balloon pump experience preferred - Epic EMR experience preferred but not required - Must reside more than 50 miles from facility; no local candidates allowed - Previous permanent staff must wait one year to be eligible as a traveler Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-661772.
