We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in California. This opportunity begins on Feb 2, 2026, and features a 7 on/7 off schedule with day shifts from 6a to 4p. The successful candidate will provide high-acuity care in a rural emergency department, working closely with onsite physicians and nursing staff. Job Details - Location: California - Start Date: Feb 2, 2026 - LOA: 42 days - Provider Type Needed: Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant - Schedule: 7 on 7 off, 6a to 4p Responsibilities and Duties - Provide direct patient care in a small, rural emergency department - Evaluate a wide range of medical and injury-related cases - Perform core emergency department procedures - Order and interpret diagnostic studies - Stabilize higher-acuity patients for transfer as needed - Collaborate with onsite physicians and nursing staff - Maintain accurate and timely documentation Additional Information - Minimum 2 years of emergency or high-acuity urgent care experience required - Must be comfortable practicing autonomously in a rural critical access ER - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required - California license required Benefits - Strong compensation - Travel-related expenses covered - A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided - Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
