to find a qualified PCU RN in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87507! Job
Title: PCU RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: NIHSS Duration: 13
Weeks Shift: Varied Day/Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Hours
Experience: Two years of current experience in an 18 bed telemetry
or progressive care unit License: State Nursing License or Compact
State Nursing License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS),
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIHSS Certification
Must-Have: Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel
assignment Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide
direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a
shift. Floating between departments and local locations within 20
miles is required. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered,
timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct
patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and
documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient
responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the
patient, family, and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and
documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers
medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard
protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets
patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and
throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the
clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Provides nursing care for a medically complex patient population
awaiting community placement in a long-term stay setting. Cares for
Med/Surg level patients in a facility without a direct escalation
path to ICU. Recognizes, de-escalates, and responds to
deteriorating patient conditions. Maintains a nurse-to-patient
ratio of one nurse to seven patients. Works weekends as needed.
Participates in on-call and call-back coverage as needed. Ability
to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility
to adapt to varying clinical settings and patient needs. Experience
using Epic EMR is preferred. BLS and ACLS certification must be
completed through recognized organizations. Traveler must provide
or pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment exam
prior to or during the first week of assignment. Travelers that do
not pass the assessment test will be dismissed. 5 Benefits of
