Description: Summary of Major Duties: *Provides clinical and
operational shift supervision of care processes which includes
patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes,
patient safety and direction of unit staff in designated service
area. *Ensures safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and

based upon area of service *CDS Inpatient *Progressive and Critical
Care Units: ACLS *Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS *Pediatrics /
PICU: PALS *Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP *Family
Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge
requires ACLS in addition to others *Pre-op / Operating Room /
PACU: ACLS, PALS *Oncology Chemotherapy certification Academic
Preparation: *Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a
program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by
system CNO) *Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN
completion within 5 years of hire Specialty Certifications:
Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred Type of

the Nursing Director, works with the Department RN Manager and RN
Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to
provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care
processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care
experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of
unit staff in designated service area(s). May provide direct
