Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/05/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with a current CA RN license and advanced certifications to join an acute care team on night shifts. Responsibilities - Work in a 10-bed Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting - Caseload includes pregnant patients 20 weeks and above, with high-risk deliveries such as hypertension, diabetes, advanced maternal age, multiple births, and minimal prenatal care - Unit includes 4 triage beds and 17 postpartum beds, averaging 150 births per month - Patient ratio is 1:2 - Required to circulate for C-sections - Fetal monitoring system is Fetal Link; telemetry equipment is GE - EMR utilized is Cerner Power Chart - 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) with every other weekend required - No floating or on-call responsibilities - Expect to care for a diverse, largely Spanish-speaking and underserved patient population - Travelers will be required to work one major and one minor holiday during their assignment - Scrubs are provided by the facility - Support is provided by a charge nurse and on-shift OB techs, with OB and Anesthesia physicians in-house 24/7 - NICU is level 2 with transfers out for level 3 care - Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7 - Travel experience is preferred but not required - Returning staff must not have worked at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Requirements - Active unrestricted CA RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required - Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) - Must have experience circulating for C-sections - Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred - Must provide references from a supervisor within the past 12 months and a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire - Copy of driver’s license required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623165.
