Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced
PACU RN with a NM or compact license, requiring at least two years
of PACU experience and multiple certifications. Responsibilities -
Work in the PACU and pre-op areas of a hospital surgical department
- Day shift with rotating 8- and 10-hour shifts; start times vary
by phase or department - Pre-op start time is 0545, PACU post-op
start time is 0730 - Floating between departments and to local
locations within 20 miles is required - EPIC EMR system is used;
on-site training provided - Provide comprehensive perioperative
care including patient assessment, planning, implementation,
evaluation, and documentation - Administer prescribed medications
and treatments, and monitor patient responses - Coordinate care in
collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team -
Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as required -
Complete unit-specific population, procedure, protocol education,
and competency testing - Return travelers or perm staff must wait
one year before being eligible for consideration - First-time
travelers are not eligible; prior travel experience is required
Requirements - Active RN license from New Mexico or a compact state
required - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA,
American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required - At
least two years of recent PACU experience required - At least one
previous 13-week travel assignment required - Associate Degree in
Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required -
Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA) test during orientation;
failure on second attempt results in dismissal - Must live at least
50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
