Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Los Alamos, New
Mexico. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post
Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours
per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel We are
seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to
join our perioperative services team. The PACU RN is responsible
for providing high-quality, post-anesthesia care to patients
recovering from surgical procedures. This role requires strong
clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond
quickly to changes in patient condition. Key Responsibilities: -
Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia following
surgical or procedural interventions. - Manage airway, vital signs,
pain, and post-operative complications. - Administer medications
and treatments as prescribed. - Provide emotional support and
education to patients and their families during the recovery
process. - Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other
healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic
health record (EHR). - Ensure compliance with hospital policies,
procedures, and regulatory standards. - Participate in PACU
readiness, including equipment checks and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications: - Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
in the state of New Mexico. - BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
required - Minimum of 2 year of acute care or PACU/critical care
experience preferred. - Strong assessment, critical thinking, and
communication skills. - Ability to work early morning shifts and
participate in on-call rotation as needed.
