About The Position Experienced Family Practice Physician needed for a locum tenens assignment in New Mexico. This 48-day opportunity, starting 06/30/2025, involves working at a rural health primary care clinic within a hospital setting. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, with flexibility on the days worked. Each shift includes 9 hours of patient-facing time and 1 hour of administrative work. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a diverse patient population, with a focus on chronic conditions like diabetes, as well as providing general primary care services. This role offers the potential for extension and requires an active New Mexico license. Job Details: Location: New Mexico Facility Type: Hospital Start Date: 06/30/2025 LOA: 48 days Provider Type Needed: Physician (Family Practice) Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (flexible days) Responsibilities and Duties: • Conduct physical exams, wellness visits, and annual check-ups • Diagnose and treat acute conditions such as colds, coughs, and flu • Manage chronic conditions, with a focus on diabetes and hypertension • Administer vaccinations and provide preventive care • Perform minor procedures, including foreign body removals • Provide care for a predominantly geriatric population, with occasional younger patients • Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient documentation • Complete administrative tasks during designated time Additional Information: • Must be licensed in New Mexico • Comfortable working in a rural health setting • Experience with high-volume diabetes management preferred • Potential for assignment extension Apply now to learn more!
