Summary: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient
care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe,
effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient
needs, actions, and responses. Coordinates care through
collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Initiates and documents appropriate protocols and standards of
care. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed,
adhering to policy. Addresses patient and family learning and
discharge needs from admission through care episode. Supervises
LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically. Required
Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years’ current experience in an 18
bed telemetry/progressive care unit. Team player, flexible, and
thrives in a fast-paced environment. Completion of at least one
13-week travel assignment. Preferred Skills & Experience: Epic EMR
experience preferred. Required Education: Associate’s Degree in
Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). Preferred
Education: None specified. Required Certifications & Licensure:
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. BLS, ACLS,
and NIHSS certifications (BLS and ACLS must be from American Heart
Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA)
exam onsite prior to or during the first week of assignment.
Candidates failing the BCA test have one re-test opportunity; a
second failure results in contract cancellation and applicable
fees. Preferred Certifications & Licensure: None specified.
Important Notes: Candidates must pass the BCA test to start the
assignment. Failure to pass after one re-test will result in
contract termination and enforcement of applicable fees. BLS and
ACLS certifications must be from specified providers (AHA, AHS, or
