Overview: Presbyterian is seeking a skilled Progressive Care
Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of
acute care patients in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will
play a crucial role in the care and recovery of patients who are
transitioning from intensive care but still require close
monitoring and specialized care. You will work in a dynamic,
fast-paced environment where your clinical expertise and
compassionate care will make a significant impact on patients'

Step-Down : The Acute Medical Step-Down unit at Presbyterian
Hospital provides care for high acuity patients within a culture
that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect.
Cardiac Step-Down : Cardiac ICU Step Down is comprised of 2 units
totaling 50 beds. This unit provides patient-focused, specialized
care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various
Cardiovascular disorders, including Cardiac arrhythmias and heart
failure . Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary
intervention, and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for
on this unit. The Cardiac Progressive Units provide quality care
through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. We strive to
provide the best professional patient care during our patients’
stay, followed by personalized discharge planning to meet
outpatient needs. Neuro Step-Down Units: The Neuro Step Down Unit
is a dedicated team of high-performing nurses providing exceptional
patient care within the 29-bed unit. This unit is highly
specialized neurology Step-Down, dedicated to the special care
required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery , or
neurological injuries – to include psych patients. Joint
Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down. How you thrive matters

State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License • BLS
certification REQUIRED at time of hire Responsibilities: Provide
direct patient care to a diverse patient population in the
Progressive Care Unit. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs,
condition, and responses to treatment. Administer medications,
treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare
providers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and
implement individualized patient care plans. Educate patients and
their families about their conditions, treatments, and
post-discharge care. Document patient care activities accurately
and thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR). Maintain a safe
and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Participate in
quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established clinical
