The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room by preparing and providing necessary instruments and equipment to assist surgeons during various surgical procedures. This position ensures patient safety and a sterile environment while working under the supervision of the surgeon. Overview: The -Surgical Technologist -provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the -operating room. The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and facilitates a safe, effective and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety. -Our surgical techs at Presbyterian Hospital assist with Peds, ENT, General, Neuro, ortho and vascular surgeries. For experienced Surgical Techs, level II or III positions may be available. -Surgical Tech - Requirements :
  • HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • Current BLS required
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program.
