Los Alamos Medical Center is an outstanding place to work as we are committed to our quality initiatives and a culture of safety, are invested in the growth of our staff and thus support ongoing education, certifications and other ongoing learning, and -extend numerous recognition programs to all of our staff. - We focus on a family atmosphere and a collaborative and team-oriented practice model in nursingThis position provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatmentDocuments patient care given.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and familyAssists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulationCollaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needsEvaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Basis Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) current upon hire.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC obtained within six (6) months of hire.Newly graduated RNs must have current BLS upon hire, must obtain ACLS and PALS/ENPC within six (6) months of hire.New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications.
