Our media company is a dynamic and innovative organization operating across various platforms including radio stations, video indoor digital displays, city-centric websites, a digital marketing firm, and a video production company. With a focus on serving communities in three cities: Durango, CO; Cortez, CO; and Farmington, NM, we are dedicated to delivering engaging content, effective marketing solutions, and top-notch production services.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our diverse portfolio of media assets across three cities and areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, strategic vision, and a proven track record in media management. Reporting directly to the Owner, the GM will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of radio and sales operations in the Four Corners, driving revenue growth, fostering client relationships, and ensuring the overall success of the company.Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive growth.Identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges to stay ahead of the competition.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
    • Operations ManagementProvide oversight and direction to radio stations, video indoor digital displays, city-centric websites, digital marketing firm, and our video production company to ensure local integration and community connections.Ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.Implement best practices and streamline processes to optimize performance and profitability.
      • Revenue GenerationDevelop and implement revenue-generating initiatives across all media platforms.Drive sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and cultivate partnerships with advertisers and clients.Monitor financial performance, budgets, and forecasts to meet revenue targets and maximize profitability.
        • Client RelationshipsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, advertisers, and key stakeholders.Understand client needs, objectives, and expectations to deliver customized solutions and exceptional service.Act as a brand ambassador and advocate for the company's products and services.Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of professionals.Provide leadership, guidance, and support to inspire teamwork, productivity, and success.Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
          • Revenue SummaryTo guide thestation'ssales efforts so they will achieve and/or exceed established sales objectives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to develop and implement a sales plan that will meet stations' revenuegoals including new business, both local direct and local agency.Possess a high energy level and assertive attitude toward sales.Ability to demonstrate and impart good people management and motivational skills.Help develop and implement sales promotional campaigns and be accountable for all local agency and direct sales objectives associated with those campaigns.Ability to develop and maintain effective communication with all co-workers and others interfaced with during the performance of assigned duties.Keep the Owner and VP of Sales informed at all times of local & national sales activity and competitive market changes as they arise.Duty Summary:Establish short- and long-term sales objectives, strategy, and plans, and implement action plans for meeting sales goals.Manage the sales department in harmony with company policy and procedures and applicable state and federal law.Prepare annual sales department budget; operate within approved budget.Determine sales organization structure and staffing needs, assign accounts, develop sales standards and procedures to facilitate obtaining sales revenue goals, and direct sales staff toward profitable areas for prospecting.Develop and implement an on-going sales training and coaching program for sales staff that will assure excellence and growth of sales capabilities.Design innovative and creative sales marketing concepts and special packages for use by Account Executives to facilitate sales.Conduct effective weekly sales meetings and one on one's.Ensure all company procedures are adhered to by Account Executives and that sales order and reports are submitted on time and according to established procedures.Ensure individual needs are being met, goals are established, and adequate coaching and direction is given in the development of business.Develop and maintain effective working relationships and lines of communication between the sales department and other departments.Conduct weekly meetings with the VP Sales and Owner to review sales strategies and devise ways of improving overall sales efforts.Design methodology to maximize use of station's inventory at the highestpossible rates, including non-demand areas.Approve all sales contracts.Assure sales staff are provided with a meaningful interpretation of market trends.Participate in community activities to increase market knowledge ability, develop business contacts, obtain visibility for the stations, and contribute to community well-being.Work in conjunction with the Business Manager to enforce collection policies and procedures.Conduct with the Business Manager regular individual collection meetings with each account executive.Community Engagement:Represent the company within the communities served, participating in events and initiatives.Establish and maintain positive relationships with local organizations, government entities, and community leaders.Contribute to corporate social responsibility efforts and support community outreach programs.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in management and or media management, preferably in radio, digital media, or advertising.Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth, managing operations, and leading teams.Strong understanding of media industry trends, technologies, and best practices.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to make informed decisions and solve complex problems.Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and value.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
