Job Description:
**What You Will Do**
Bioscience Division conducts research and development in basic and
applied biological sciences in support of the national security
mission of Los Alamos National Laboratory. We are looking for a
Technical Project Management (TPM) Student to join our
multidisciplinary Division and grow our project management
capabilities. The Bioscience Project Management Student will work
directly with line management, technical project management,
financial, and administrative staff to support Division level
operations and projects.
In this role, the student will have the opportunity to learn
project management fundamentals, establish technical requirements,
define deliverables, form budgets and schedules, and assist project
teams with end-to-end project management from initiation to timely
completion. In addition, the student will have the opportunity to
interact with B Division management and science leaders in the
biological sciences.
**What You Need**
**Minimum Job Requirements:**
--- Excellent time management skills and ability to drive tasks to
completion.
--- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
skills evidenced by reports, presentations, public speaking,
etc.
--- Demonstrated logistical and problem-solving skills, the ability
to anticipate challenges or obstacles, and to tactfully resolve
them with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to work with diverse teams, and contribute to planning,
tracking, and execution of project plans.
+ Excellent administrative, accounting, and organizational
management practices.
+ Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, preferably
full-time.
**Education/Experience** : Master's Degree in a scientific
discipline, administrative program, or equivalent obtained at the
time of hire or within the past 3 years, but have not yet been
accepted and enrolled into a graduate program.
**Desired Qualifications:**
--- Previous experience in a technical field (scientific laboratory
work, computational work, construction, military experience,
etc.).
--- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel,
Project) or other project management software.
--- Experience managing projects, technical or otherwise.
--- Training or certification in project management (CAPM, PMP,
Agile, etc)
--- Proven ability to foster effective customer relationships and
interact effectively with all levels of personnel, building trust,
gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts.
--- Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance, which requires U.S.
citizenship.

**Additional Details**
**Directive 206.2** - Employment with Triad requires a favorable
decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA
Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement
applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals
are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
**No Clearance:** Position does not require a security clearance.
Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other

substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
