Plans, directs, and coordinates the operational, personnel, and
financial activities of the Business Office, Patient Access, Health
Information Management (HIM), PCSC, Utilization Review (UR), Food
Services, Materials Management and Linen operations in an effort to
ensure that quality patient needs are met. Responsibilities
*Ensures the delivery of quality Business Office, Patient Access,
Health Information Management (HIM), PCSC, Utilization Review (UR),
Food Services, and Materials Management and Linen services to
patients, families, and PEH staff.
*Directs, coordinates, and supervises all activities in the
Business Office, Patient Access, Health Information Management
(HIM), PCSC, Utilization Review (UR), Food Services, and Materials
Management and Linen operations, including budget preparation,
supply ordering, and receiving.
*Provides oversight of the management of the Patient Access
operations to ensure all functions related to pre-registration,
insurance verification, financial counseling, up-front cash
collections, and denials are performed within the established
quality standards; maintains the integrity and accuracy of patient
* Provides oversight of the management of the Health Information
Management (HIM) operations; ensures proper maintenance and
retention of all hospital medical records.
*Ensures compliance with industry standards pertaining to facility
admissions and maintenance and retention of complete medical
records and statistical reporting related to Patient Access and
*Provides oversight of the management of Food Services Department
*Provides oversight of the management of Material Management
(Central Supply) Department and Linen operations.
*Directs and coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment to
include inventory control throughout hospital.
*Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff. Develops
standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or
makes recommendations for personnel actions
*Assists in the development and implementation of PHS Business
Office, Patient Access, Health Information Management (HIM), PCSC,
Utilization Review (UR), Food Services, Materials Management and
Linen objectives. Establishes and implements policies and
procedures for each department operations.
*Assists facility finance partner in general operations reporting
and analysis as required.
*Develops and recommends department operating budget. Monitors
expenses and works towards keeping expenses within established
*Directs the preparation and maintenance of accounts receivable,
cash receipts, and other reporting requirements.
*Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a
condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of
patients and staff.
*Provides professional growth and education for assigned staff.
Education: Bachelors Degree required
Bachelors degree. And, five to seven years Management experience in
healthcare setting with related areas of operation.
