Come and be a part of a fast paced, customer focused Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Team, serving a world-class research and development institution. Los Alamos National Laboratory has an exciting opportunity for an experienced staff member that will play a key role in helping provide program management services for I&T. The ideal team member will assist with the development of CIO work packages, reporting of monthly metrics (including work package milestones & deliverables), serve as the primary liaison for contract deliverables and performance direction with the Prime Contract Management Division Office, manage the Site Risk Management Council, maintain the weekly NA-LA tracking list, serve as the delegate for the IT and Cyber Management Systems (Systems of Systems) and develop Impact Assessments in response to new DOE Orders, NNSA directives and/or other federal requirements with senior leaders and subject matter experts, and other duties as assigned to assist in management of Contracting Assurance milestones and/or deliverables. This position serves as a primary IT interface for the CIO and CISO Team with customers and stakeholders to develop, negotiate, and define programmatic deliverables and metrics that balance the best interests of the customer, IT and Information Security Programs, and the Institution as a whole. The CISO Team, under the direction of the Chief Information Office (CIO) and CISO, orchestrates information security across the Laboratory through governance, risk management, and certification and accreditation of IT systems.As an IT Program Manager on the CISO team, you will have the opportunity to work and grow in an exciting and challenging group. This position is key in working with the CIO, CISO, Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), senior I&T leadership, and the Authorizing Official to successfully administer various solutions, tools, budget and federal reporting requirements that support the laboratory's cybersecurity environment. What You Need Technical Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Broad level knowledge and expertise of information technology and information security technical and/or operational work, and cyber security, as well as a comprehensive level of knowledge of regulatory and requirements related to programmatic work assigned to IT and/or information security organizations. Collaboration and Technical Communication: Applicant must be able to demonstrate collaboration across technical and non-technical focus areas, organizations, and other existing boundaries to achieve a consensus while adhering to NIST standards and DOE/NNSA requirements. Applicant will need to be able to coordinate and communicate CIO programmatic deliverables with various management level owners in an effective manner Ability to demonstrate successful proficiency in verbal and written communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills as demonstrated by applicant's submitted work & writing samples and if selected for an interview, by their communication style and composure. Program Management: Advanced knowledge of IT project and/or program management that includes methodologies, tools, and processes. Demonstrated ability to develop work packages, manage a budget and change control processes, and competency with technology and IT reporting tools. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage various IT initiatives and Governance Boards. Experience providing leadership and strategic and tactical planning for execution of IT and cybersecurity information programs that impact multiple organizations. Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Regulation and Compliance: Advanced knowledge of IT governance, DOE Orders, federal requirements and compliance. Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Post graduate work may serve as years of related experience. Desired Qualifications: Robust working knowledge of LANL's operations and computer and information security policies, practices, and procedures. Active DOE Q clearance IT certification (CISSP, PMP, MCSE, CCNA) Note to Applicants: Position is qualified for telework status Occasional domestic travel may be required Writing samples and work samples applicable to minimum job requirements are required as part of the application submittal package A comprehensive cover letter and resume are required Job posting will remain open until a qualified pool of qualified applicants has been identified Location This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, New Mexico and thi s position can be considered as part of the Laboratory's Telework Pilot and may work from a remote/home location within a two-hour ground commute of the Laboratory. The Telework Pilot is in effect from Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021, but may be shortened or extended at the manager's discretion. Ability to report on-site is a must for this position.

    Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this p osition is 1 year. Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
