Position Summary The Product Engineering Technician provides
operational and technical support to the Product Engineering (PE)
team within an L10/L11 production and testing environment. This
role executes diagnostic procedures, performs initial triage of
complex hardware failures in customer systems, and ensures data
integrity for accurate root cause analysis. The technician serves
as the first level of engineering support on the production floor,
following established troubleshooting guides (TSG) and
methodologies defined by the PE Engineer and HQ teams. Key
Responsibilities Diagnostic Execution Execute TSG procedures for
L10/L11 failures (PCIe, sensors, firmware) using Linux tools
(nitro-bmc, coap). Perform component swapping and structured fault
isolation. Access systems via Serial Console and SSH for debugging.
Conduct voltage verification using a multimeter when required.
Engineering Support Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and error
injections for failure analysis. Collect and validate diagnostic
data for First Pass Yield (FPY) analysis. Support root cause
investigations in collaboration with PE/TE/FA teams. Firmware &
Configuration Execute firmware updates (KEG Push). Perform FRU
recovery and VPD updates. Configure network switches (Celestica)
for connectivity validation. Restore unit connectivity and system
functionality. Process Improvement Implement Kaizen projects
(minimum 2 per month). Manage unit inventory and debug time limits.
Maintain 5S standards in the work area. Perform regular tool and
equipment inventory audits. Documentation & Reporting Log detailed
diagnostic findings in WTS. Ensure accurate escalation
documentation. Maintain compliance with documentation standards and
debug workflows. Minimum Requirements Technical degree (or in
progress) in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or
related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a related technical
role. Basic experience in hardware diagnostics and Linux
environments. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with server
platforms and systems integration. Understanding of networking
concepts (switches, VLANs, port configuration). Experience in
testing, production, or technical support environments.
Introductory Python knowledge for log handling or data extraction.
Experience with ticketing or tracking systems. Entry-level
certifications (e.g., Linux Essentials). Additional certifications
in hardware diagnostics, Linux, networking, or server systems are a
plus. Skills Technical Skills Server components, PCIe structure,
platform behavior, FRU/VPD. Linux CLI (dmesg, lspci, systemctl).
Log analysis (SEL, SDR, ME). Firmware updates (KEG Push). Basic
Python automation and log parsing. Rack handling and safety
protocols. Analytical Skills Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, fault
isolation flows). Trend analysis and recurring failure
identification. Diagnostic evidence validation and escalation
accuracy. Leadership & Collaboration Workload organization and
execution discipline. Peer mentorship and onboarding support
(Linux/TSG). Cross-functional collaboration (PE, TE, QA,
Production). Proactive and adaptable mindset. Operational
Excellence Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure
environments. Detail-oriented with strong diagnostic precision.
Strict adherence to process, documentation, and safety standards.
5S workspace organization and equipment safety compliance. Work
Environment L10/L11 testing and production floor with moderate
noise and frequent power cycling. Hybrid role combining desk-based
log analysis with hands-on hardware interaction. Continuous
collaboration with PE, TE, QA, and Production teams. Strict
adherence to ESD controls and safety regulations. May require
schedule flexibility during high debug volume or engineering
builds. Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to

lbs (18 kg). Operation of pallet jacks or hydraulic lifts. Fine
motor skills for cabling and connector handling. Prolonged screen
time for log and diagnostic analysis. OSHA compliance and U.S. site
spacing alignment required. Region/Country Requirements Must be
legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to
communicate in English or Spanish (functional technical English
required). Collaboration with U.S., Mexico, and Taiwan engineering
teams. Alignment with global debug processes and documentation
standards. Adaptability to Microsoft/AWS platform requirements and
