Data Engineer is responsible for creating and optimizing data and
data pipeline architecture as well as optimizing data flow and
collection. This FBO Operations Technology role will collaborate
with cross-functional teams to understand complex business problems
and what the business is trying to achieve. This Data Engineer will
support our data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives.
This role will also be responsible for building and maintaining the
data platform.This hands-on technical role demands excellent
knowledge and can demonstrate best practices in the industry. An
ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the data warehouse
and data engineering using the latest tools, technologies, and
frameworks.**The Main Responsibilities**+ Work as a member of a
Data Science & Analytics team in Field Operations to help transform
the business by identifying opportunities for operational
efficiencies across the Enterprise. This will include:+ Work in
collaboration with data scientists, data analysts, operational team
leaders, and business leaders to understand business requirements
and end user's needs+ Translate business requirements and end
user's needs into optimal data pipeline architectures that deliver
cost-effective & high performing, high-quality data science
solutions in compliance with organizational standards, policies,
and long-term technical strategies+ Design, develop, manage, and
update complex data sets that meet business requirements+ Work with
IT partners to review the upstream data warehouse data models and
assess/mitigate the impact on FBO's Data Science Operations+
Communicate database designs to business and technical audiences,
including business users, program sponsors, database
administrators, vendors, and FBO team members+ Work with DBAs to
migrate schema changes between development, QA, and production
environments+ Provide architectural expertise, thought leadership,
direction, and assistance across the entire FBO Operations
Technology organization+ Assist cross-functional team members and
leaders in estimating effort and resources for new projects and
enhancement requests+ Engage with stakeholders including
executives, product, IT, Data, and Design teams to assist with
data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure
needs+ Help solve complex production issues spanning multiple tiers
in the FBO Operations Technology Organization+ Stay current in new
technologies, evaluate them, and make adoption recommendations+
Participate in developing and documenting technical standards and
best practices for the FBO Operations Technology organization+
Displays strong analytical thinking and skills to rapidly adopt new
methods, tools, and programming languages, as needed.+ Perform
other duties as requested**What We Look For in a
Candidate**Required:+ Bachelor's or master's degree(s) in
Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics,
Analytics, or Economics+ 4+ years of experience or 2+ years with a
master's degree in data analysis or related field+ Experience in
troubleshooting data issues, analyzing end to end data pipelines,
and working with users in resolving issues+ Advanced working SQL
knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query
authoring, scripting, and working familiarity with a variety of
NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and Neo4j+ Experience developing
low latency data processing solutions like AWS Kinesis, Apache
Kafka, Apache Spark Stream processing, and other data integration
tools+ Proven ability to build reliable, efficient, testable, &
maintainable data pipelines.+ Strong problem solving,
collaboration, and communication skills and a passion for
leveraging data to improve business outcomes+ Ability to work with
cross-functional teams to enable data insights through the data
lifecycle.+ Works effectively on a team and as a self-driven
individual contributor who researches and develops cutting-edge and
effective solutions for the business.+ Clearly articulates ideas,
potential solutions, and problem-solving approaches to the
appropriate audience and stakeholders using non-technical language+
Ability to multi-task to manage multiple requests for on-time
delivery & the flexibility to transition priorities when needed+
Familiarity with BI reporting tools (such as Tableau, Qlik Sense,
Power BI)+ Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and
Google Cloud Platform+ Experience with object-oriented/object
function scripting languages such as Python, Java, C++,
etc---Preferred Qualifications+ Familiarity with predictive
modeling tools like SAS and/or R+ Familiarity with Big Data
technologies such as Hadoop and Spark+ Experience in cable or
another telecommunications service provider+ Familiarity with Agile
development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe**What to
