Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Field Tech/Laborer at Kha'P'O Construction in KC plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects from the ground up. This position involves hands-on work in excavation, demolition, and site preparation, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with project managers and construction teams to assist in project estimation and management activities, contributing to the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects. The Field Tech/Laborer is also responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery, adhering strictly to construction safety protocols to protect themselves and their coworkers. Ultimately, this position is essential in laying the foundation for commercial buildings and infrastructure, directly impacting the overall success and reputation of Kha'P'O Construction. Minimum Qualifications: Proven experience in excavation and demolition within commercial construction projects. Familiarity with operating heavy machinery safely and effectively. Basic understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices. Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications. Physical capability to perform demanding labor tasks in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in construction safety or heavy machinery operation. Experience with project estimation and construction management software. Previous work experience on large-scale commercial building projects. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites. Responsibilities: Perform excavation and site preparation tasks for commercial building projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Assist in demolition activities, safely dismantling structures as required while minimizing disruption to surrounding areas. Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, and other construction equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. Support project estimation and construction management teams by providing on-site insights and assisting with material handling and logistics. Adhere to all construction safety standards and protocols, actively participating in safety meetings and reporting any hazards or incidents promptly. Skills: The required skills such as excavation, demolition, and heavy machinery operation are utilized daily to prepare and modify construction sites according to project plans. Commercial building and project estimation skills enable the Field Tech/Laborer to understand the scope and requirements of each project, contributing valuable input to management teams. Construction management and safety knowledge ensure that all activities are performed within regulatory guidelines, minimizing risks and maintaining a safe work environment. The ability to operate heavy machinery efficiently supports the timely completion of excavation and demolition tasks, directly impacting project schedules.
