Summary:Responsible for the overall operations, implementation and
evaluation of activities for providing emergency services per
UNMH/UNMHSC mission and operational goals. Role accountabilities
will ensure the delivery of optimal & safe patient care which
includes fiscal management, strategic planning, standards
compliance, clinical practice & staff development, oversight and
active participation in clinical practice, and performance
improvement activities that evaluate program effectiveness. Ensure
adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent,
Adult and Geriatric age groups.Detailed responsibilities:*
MANAGEMENT - Responsible for organizing and directing clinical
practice in collaboration with the program medical director through
development, and implementation maintenance of practice guidelines
per recognized standards* PATIENT CARE - Provide direct patient
care as necessary for evaluation of department services, evaluation
of patient outcomes, adjusts patient care processes as necessary to
ensure optimal care, consults with other health care providers as
indicated* COORDINATION - Collaborate with resources to ensure
optimal and efficient accounting operations for purchases, payment
for services and prior authorizations* SUPERVISION - Responsible
for assurance of staff orientation, credentialing, competency
completion and continuing education* DOCUMENTATION - Responsible
for assurance of accurate documentation of information related to
patient care activities, regulatory requirements, data collection
and statistical reporting* REPORTS - Prepares reports, proposals
and related documents for administrative/service needs such as
contract negotiations, program status reports, etc.* SAFETY -
Maintain current knowledge of industry safety and performs ongoing
assessment of the environment for safety compliance* SAFETY -
Coordinate activities to ensure safety compliance* COORDINATION -
Participate in local, state, regional and national activities
regarding emergency services for maintaining a current base of
knowledge for reference* PERFORMANCE - Develop and implement better
performance strategies and clinical management competence*
COORDINATION - Perform functions related to serving as an
ambassador representing UNMH/HSC in a professional and positive
manner for promoting UH and Trauma services
* COMMUNICATION - Maintain open communication and feedback with
customers* SUPERVISION - Ensure harassment-free environment for
patients and staff* BENCHMARKS - Coordinate benchmarking activities
as related to emergency services* PATIENT CARE - Assist patients,
staff, families, and other related health care providers in times
of stress or crisis* RESOURCES - Seek resources for defusing and
debriefing activities* SUPERVISION - Develop efficient
organizational structure. Supervise employees and select,
terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform
appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments;
encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
* BUDGET - Develop and administer the division's annual budget;
monitor and approve expenditures* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance
professional growth and development through participation in
educational programs, reading current literature, attending
in-services, meetings and workshops* PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow
patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols* PATIENT
SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by
seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning
of current policies and processes* PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and
report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may
put a patient at undue risk* PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or
actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses
in a timely manner* PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to
actively participate in their own care by asking questions and
reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may

specialization:Essential:* Related Discipline (BSN required if not
MSN)Nonessential:* MSN or DNPExperience:Essential:5 years directly
related experienceNonessential:Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres,
Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
5 years directly related experienceCredentials:Essential:* CPR for
Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days* RN in NM or as
allowed by reciprocal agreement w/in 60 daysNonessential:* Prov in
2: TNCC, ENPC, APLS, NALS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS or rel.Physical
Conditions:Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move
objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for
